Sanjay Lalbhai
Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai

Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai is the Chancellor & Chairman, Board of Governors, Ahmedabad University. He is the Chairman and Managing Director, Arvind Limited (formerly the Arvind Mills Ltd.), with businesses in textiles, clothing, and infrastructure development. He presides over the operations of all the textiles and clothing activities of the Lalbhai Group.

Mr. Lalbhai was a member of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is also the President of Ahmedabad Education Society, and Chairs number of well-known educational institutions, in Gujarat. Mr. Lalbhai is the Chairman of ATIRA’s (Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association) Council of Administration.

Pankaj Chandra
Dr. Pankaj Chandra

Professor Pankaj Chandra is the Vice Chancellor & Chairman, Board of Management, Ahmedabad University. He was the Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) and a Professor of Operations and Technology Management at IIMB. He has taught at various institutions such as McGill University in Montreal, University of Geneva, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, International University of Japan, Cornell University, Renmin University, Beijing, and IIM Ahmedabad (IIM A). He has worked briefly with The World Bank in Washington DC. He was the Chairperson of the Doctoral Program at IIM Ahmedabad and the first Associate Dean (Academic) at ISB, Hyderabad. He was part of the founding team at the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIMA and its first Chairperson.

Professor Chandra has served as member of the Government of India Committee on Clusters for Development of the Informal Sector. He was a member of the two High Powered Committees – the Government of India Committee on Rejuvenation of Higher Education (Yashpal Committee) that re-looked at the Indian Higher Education system as well as the committee on the Autonomy of Central Institutions. He was a member of two Steering Committees constituted by the Planning Commission of India for 12th Plan Development, one on Higher and Technical Education (Where he also chaired the Sub-Committee on Student Financial Aid), and the other on Industry. He was a member of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) subcommittee on Teacher Education. Until recently, he was also a member of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). He was a member of RUSA (the higher education regulator) of the Ministry of HRD, GOI.

Professor Chandra has been involved in several startups, has also been a consultant to large Indian and multi-national firms and serves on the Boards of several firms and institutions.

Praful Anubhai
Mr. Prafull Anubhai

Shri Prafull Anubhai, is an educationist besides being a Corporate Advisor. He is a member of the Governing Council of AES (Ahmedabad Education Society). He has been associated with IIMA for the last more than 40 years as faculty and/or member on the Board of Governors. He is also a member on the Board of Directors of CSTEP (Centre for Science Technology and Policy) and a trustee of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana.

Shri Prafull Anubhai has deep interest in Indian Classical Music. He is actively associated with organizing the best and the longest festival of Indian classical music – Saptak Annual Festival. Currently, he is also the Hon. Director of Saptak Archives, an institution dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of Indian Classical Music.

B M Shah
Mr. Bhupendra Shah

Mr. B. M. Shah is the Registrar & CFO of Ahmedabad University, Director of Ahmedabad Education Society, Member of Finance Committee, CEPT University, and Member of the Fee Regulatory Committee since 2005 which was set up under the directive of the Supreme Court and by the Government of Gujarat.

He has worked in various capacities in the committees of WIRC Ahmedabad branch.

He was a member of Expert Advisory Committee of ICAI, New Delhi during 2005-06 and member of Financial Reporting Review Group (Ahmedabad) for 2008-09.

Mr. B. M. Shah has 34 years of experience as the Head – Finance and IT Systems of Arvind Mills Ltd.

Nimesh Kampani
Mr. Nimesh Kampani

Mr. Nimesh N Kampani is the founder and chairman of JM Financial Group, one of India’s leading financial services groups. Founded in 1973, JM Financial has interests in investment banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, private and corporate wealth management, equity broking, portfolio management, non-banking financial activities, mutual fund, alternative asset management (consists of private equity fund and real estate fund), commodities broking and asset reconstruction. In his career spanning more than three and a half decades, Mr. Kampani has made pioneering contributions to the development of the Indian capital markets and has advised several corporates on their strategic and financial needs, especially, capital raising and mergers & acquisitions.

Asit Kotecha
Mr. Asit Koticha

Mr. Asit Koticha is the Chairman and founder promoter of the ASK group. He has over two and half decades of experience in the Indian capital markets and is highly regarded in the Indian financial markets. He has featured in CNBC TV18’s “Wizards of Dalal Street”. Over the years the ASK group under Mr. Asit Koticha’s mentorship has developed independent and focused expertise in the areas of Equity Research, Asset Management (both Equities and Real Estate), Financial Planning and Wealth Advisory. He is also an advisory committee member to “India Build Campaign” Habitat for Humanity, India and “World of Hope Campaign” Habitat for Humanity, Asia Pacific.

Dr. Jayanti Ravi
Dr. Jayanti Ravi

Dr. Jayanti Ravi is an alumnus of the London School of Economics. She has graduated from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She has worked in various capacities in the State Government and also in the Central Government. She has been invited to teach as an independent faculty at World Class Institutions like Harvard University. Being an IAS Officer, she is currently posted as Commissioner Higher Education in the Government of Gujarat.

Prof. Ashish Nanda

Prof. Ashish Nanda is Director of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Professor Nanda teaches in the Executive Education, PGP, and PGPX programs at the institute. Before joining IIMA, Nanda was Robert Braucher Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School, where he taught in the JD program and was faculty director of Executive Education, faculty director of Case Development Initiative, and research director at Program on the Legal Profession. Nanda was at Harvard Law School for seven years. Before that, he was a Harvard Business School faculty member for 13 years, where he taught in MBA, DBA, and Executive Education courses. He continues to be affiliated with Harvard University as Robert Braucher Professor of Practice (on leave) at Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School Executive Education Fellow.

Pradyumna Vyas
Mr. Pradyumna Vyas

Mr. Pradyumna Vyas did his master’s in Industrial Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

He has over 27 years of professional and teaching experience in different spheres of design. Since the last 22 years he has been a faculty in the Industrial Design discipline at NID and has a special interest in design for social and sustainable development intervention for SMEs and crafts. He took charge as the director of the institute from April 2009. Pradyumna has two years’ experience in Product Design in Bombay and 3 years Overseas experience at the Kilkenny Design Centre, Republic of Ireland. He has coordinated major design promotion events in India and represented NID in various international and national events including the ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design) congress in Taiwan, Korea, Germany, Denmark, USA, and Singapore.

He also represented NID in the Asia Design Network, Japan. He has been elected as an ICSID Executive Board Member for 2009–11.

Dr. Sudhir Jain

Dr. Sudhir Jain is an active academic and a passionate academic administrator. He has been on the faculty of IIT Kanpur (IITK) since 1984 from where he is currently on leave to the new Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) in Ahmedabad to shoulder the responsibilities of its Director. His work has had tremendous impact on earthquake engineering practice and education in India. He was instrumental in development of several important seismic codes in India, and has trained a huge number of professional engineers and college teachers in earthquake engineering through his highly successful continuing education programmes. He set up the National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering (NICEE) at IITK and developed the National Programme on Earthquake Engineering Education (NPEEE), supported by the Government of India. Dr. Jain has been consultant for major projects, such as bridges, petrochemical pipelines and concrete dams and has published more than 150 scholarly papers. His research interests include study of damaging earthquakes, reinforced concrete buildings, bridges, and seismic codes.
