The seed for the Computer Society of India (CSI) was first sown in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts, a computer user group that felt the need to organize its activities. Members wished to share knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt was a fast emerging sector. Today, the CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and IT.
The organisation has grown to accommodate 100,000 members consisting of professionals with varied backgrounds, including software developers, Scientists, Academicians, Project Managers, CIO’s , CTO’s & IT vendors to just name a few. It has spread its branches all over the country. Currently there are 488 student branches and rooted firmly at 73 different locations.
SCS-CSI Student Branch
SCS-CSI Student branch was inaugurated on 13th March, 2004. Currently, it has 140+ student members, 9 Institutional members and 20 faculty members. SCS-CSI Student branch regularly organizes various events like Expert lectures, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Training programs and Industrial visits for the learning, knowledge sharing and career enhancement of the students, thus, helping them to integrate into the IT industry.

Awards won by AESICS-CSI Student Branch
1. AESICS-CSI Student Branch won the prestigious "Best CSI Student Branch Award" in Region-III (Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh) for the year 2014-15. In the past, AESICS-CSI Student Branch has received the Best Regional Student Branch Award in Region –III (Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh) since 2005.
