The doctoral degree programme at Biological and Life Sciences offers a unique academic experience. Apart from the many opportunities gained from a lively exchange with experts from across disciplines (and Ahmedabad University’s various global partnerships), the programme also grants access to state-of-the-art laboratories that house well equipped facilities.
The scope of the division’s research spans both pure and applied biological sciences, with our talented young faculty working at the intersections and frontiers of the following areas:
1. Nanobiotechnology, nanotoxicology and environmental biotechnology
2. Bioinformatics, biophysics and bioengineering
3. Stem cell biology and cancer biology
4. Ecology and evolutionary biology
5. Microbiology and parasitology
The Biological and Life Sciences division, which forms part of Ahmedabad University’s School of Arts and Sciences, is proud to announce the relaunch of its PhD programme and would like to officially invite applications for the session beginning in August 2018. Prospective candidates are required to have a Masters degree in any area of basic or applied biological science (MSc/BTech/MBBS/MTech) with a good academic record and a minimum of 60 percent marks in order to be eligible, while those with CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/ DST fellowships are likely to be given precedence. Candidates are requested to apply through our online application procedure (see link below). Those short-listed will be invited for written test/interview at the School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University.
