In his career spanning over 28 years, Professor Mohan has led business-driven HR at global, regional and national levels across industry verticals and types of organisations. In his last role, he was Group Senior Director – Human Capital at Max Group, a US $3 billion enterprise in Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Hospitals & Life style businesses. Working closely with the Board, he led the group’s efforts in building strong corporate governance, compensation strategies and building leadership pipeline. Prior to joining Max Group, Professor Mohan was Executive Vice President and Global Head of Human Resources at EXL Service, a leading operations management and analytics company that helps businesses enhance growth and profitability. At EXL, Professor Mohan led the efforts in restructuring the organisation to support the changed brand value proposition and the creation of a comprehensive framework for building the global talent brand. He architected the growth of EXL into many geographies across the world and in implementing a new rewards strategy, among other initiatives. Prior to joining EXL, Mohan was Group President-Global HR at Spice Corp.
Professor Mohan started his career with ITC Limited in the era of Industrial Relations and was responsible for union negotiations and factory productivity. Subsequently he worked in leadership positions at Motorola, Digital, Trilogy and Airtel in India, Middle East, Singapore, South East Asia and China. In the last fifteen years, Professor Mohan worked with promoters and boards and has been in the midst of building scale globally and in managing complexity. Some of his other key achievements include building Trilogy business in India and Airtel’s foray into Enterprise business.  While at Spice Corp, he led the group strategy project with McKinsey that led to the expansion of the group across south-east Asia and China including large M&As and integration. In the course of his long career, Professor Mohan worked extensively in organisation capability development functions: Motorola University, Digital Capability Development Group and Trilogy University and enabled creation of a learning culture through top talent development initiatives.

Professor Mohan strongly believes that HR function needs to play the balancing role of human and resource to ensure organisational and people success.
