Undergraduate Admissions

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid aims to enrol talented students from all across India and the world. We follow a need blind admissions policy where gifted aspirants from diverse backgrounds are evaluated purely on the merit of their application profile – and high achieving students are offered generous financial support.

We offer a liberal education that inculcates the values of interdisciplinarity and diversity, in a way that links theoretical schemes to living contexts. Each Honours programme provides students the opportunity to craft their own learning across disciplines in Business and Commerce, Humanities as well as the Sciences. Students have the opportunity to make an informed decision about their area of specialization, and can change their major if they wish to.

Undergraduate Admissions for BA (Hons), BBA (Hons), BCom (Hons), BCom Professional (Hons), BS (Hons), Integrated MBA and Integrated MS Programmes for the academic year starting July 2020 are under way.

Graduate Admissions

Master of Business Administration

The two year full time Masters in Business Administration programme of Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University is for aspirants who are motivated about experiential learning and dream to weave a management career of their interest. The programme aims to enroll students rich in regional and academic diversity. Admissions to the MBA programme are based on holistic evaluation process, based upon criteria that include qualitative, quantitative and attitudinal measures.

Graduates or those in the final year of their graduation may apply to the MBA programme by taking one of the competitive aptitude tests from amongst CAT 2018 / XAT 2019 / CMAT 2019 / NMAT 2018 / MAT 2018-19/ SNAP 2018 / GMAT. Those candidates who have not appeared / registered for any competitive tests yet, may also apply. Such candidates, should they meet other required standards, shall go through the process described in the admission policy and procedures.

After reviewing all the applications, shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interaction. The final selection will be based on their overall performance across aptitude test, personal interaction, and academic performance. Candidates with relevant work experience or active participation in community service will be given a preference.

Master of Management Studies in Heritage Management

The first of its kind programme in India, and located in the recently christened 'UNESCO World-Heritage City' of Ahmedabad, the Master's Programme in Heritage Management is a two-years degree programme that emphasizes on critical understanding of heritage and an integrated management approach to the heritage sector. It offers a unique opportunity to gain expertise in a fast-growing domain within the context of an innovative pedagogic framework that includes field-learning, immersion and practicum programmes, and inputs from leading practitioners within the field. In the two years of the course, the pedagogy facilitates students to gain conceptual and professional insights into heritage at both the macro level and grassroots level. The programme is open to candidates from any disciplinary background with a minimum of a Bachelor degree, and a demonstrated interest or experience in the heritage sector.

The admission is based on holistic evaluation comprising of a Statement of Purpose (SoP), a portfolio of relevant works OR a standard admissions test score, and a personal interview of short-listed candidates.

Master of Arts in Economics

The two-year Master of Arts degree programme in Economics (MA in Economics) is a one-of-its-kind graduate programme in the field in India. The programme is academically rigorous, with a focus on interdisciplinarity and practical exposure. The programme will equip the graduating with analytical skills to understand the complex modern world and test solutions to the challenges it poses. The graduates from this programme may opt for professions in academia, corporate sector, consulting, public policy and governance, and non-governmental organisations. The applicant should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any field including Engineering and Management; trained in quantitative subjects in Class 12 or at Bachelor's level; a valid GRE/CAT or graduate level aptitude test or entrance test of Indian Central Universities, IGIDR or others. Foreign students with a valid IELTS score can also apply.

Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering

The School of Engineering and Applied Science offers two year MTech programme for the aspirants who wish to advance their knowledge in the field of Computer Science, with a special focus on 'Data Science' and 'Analytics'. This programme is specially designed to give students a hands on experience of a variety of analytical tools and functions, which includes data mining, predictive modelling, machine learning and visual analytics using large data sets. The students will also conduct analyses and work towards building prototypes which have real world applications. The students will also be encouraged to develop models for various industries and prepare case studies.

Admissions to the programme is open to those who have a valid GATE score in any of the subjects, which are, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Physics and Mathematics. The candidate should have a Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology in ICT/CS/IT/EE/EC or a Master degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Mathematics/Physics OR a three year Master of Computer Application programme degree. A list of short listed candidates will be posted on the School website. The admissions to the MTech programme is conducted by Ahmedabad University.
