Faculty

Professor Kranti Suresh Vora is an obstetrician turned public health professional. She has medical degrees (MBBS DGO & MD) from B J Medical College, Ahmedabad. Professor Vora did her MPH from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA, and PhD from University of the Maryland, College Park, USA. Professor Vora received a Bill and Melinda Gates Scholarship for her MPH and an international teaching fellowship at University Of Maryland, College Park.

Before joining Ahmedabad University, Professor Vora worked as a Professor at Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG). During her tenure of 10 years at IIPHG, Professor Vora has collaborated internationally with the Karolinska Institutet, University of Aberdeen, McGill University and University of Canberra among others.  Moreover, she has worked in Indian states such as Rajasthan, Bihar, and Meghalaya, in addition to extensive work in Gujarat. Dr Vora has also worked with international NGOs and development agencies such as Unicef (United Nations Children’s Fund) in Afghanistan and BRAC (Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee) in Bangladesh. She received research grants from WHO (World Health Organization), Unicef, World Bank and EU (European Union) in addition to Indian agencies such as DST (Department of Science and Technology). Professor Vora mentored masters and doctoral students from Indian and international academic organisations. She has conducted short-term training for senior public health officers for public health management and leadership. Her areas of interest include Reproductive child health, Health policy, Health System strengthening, Implementation research, Demographic Surveillance, Health innovations, and Cancer research.
