Punyashlok Dwibedy has a PhD in Strategy from IIM Ahmedabad. He holds a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IMT, Nagpur. After his PGDM, he worked as Manager, Corporate Business, in HDFC ERGO General Insurance from 2014 to 2016 in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
His research interests include innovation and technological choices of firms, combination of innovation practices affecting firm performance, entrepreneurship in emerging markets, small business management and unique market structures in emerging markets impacting firm innovation. His teaching interests include corporate strategy, strategy and innovation, and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. He has also co-authored a case on the acquisition of a foreign firm by an Indian family business published by the IIM Ahmedabad Case Centre. The case has been awarded the “Madan Mohanka Research on Internationalisation of Business Award” for the year 2021 at IIM Ahmedabad.
His research work has been selected for presentation at the Academy of Management Annual Conference, Strategic Management Society Conference, and Academy of International Business. His thesis explores the factors impacting firms’ technological choices and how these choices affect firm performance. He currently has working papers and articles under review at various journals. Punyashlok joined Amrut Mody School of Management as Assistant Professor in August 2021
